The Consortium of Food Allergy Research (CoFAR) "was established to conduct multi-center clinical trials, observational studies, mechanistic studies and basic research towards further understanding of the best possible treatment approaches for food allergies.

CoFAR was established through a grant provided by NIH/NIAID/DAIT to Dr. Hugh Sampson, at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and to The EMMES Corporation.  Mount Sinai is the Lead Clinical Center and EMMES is the Statistical and Clinical Coordinating Center (SACCC) for the study."

 

The site includes a "Food Allergy Education Program," on the left, the includes a section on avoiding allergens. This section includes links for each of the common allergies that specify ingredients to avoid and other information for the allergy.

FAAN summarizes a study published in the June 2011 issue of the Pediatrics Journal entitled, "The prevalence, severity, and distribution of childhood food allergy in the United State," by RS Gupta, EE Springston, MR Warrier, B Smith, R Kumar, J Pongracic, and JL Holl.
